I have a question about Wagner after World War II. Which was the first Wagner-opera to be performed in Germany after the war? I believe this was in 1946, but I don't know which opera or in which city. Cheers, Vincent Gee that would be hard to say since just about every German city with an opera house can mount a Ring cycle without making it a world shattering event the way the MET does - it would be hard to say which city mounted a Wagner opera first after the war - but it would be interesting to know.
