In airguns, using co2 or compressed air may be the case. However, in airsoft, a gas gun usually refers to a gun that uses green gas, or something similar. Any of these gases, which are made solely for the purpose of airsoft guns, are very similar to computer duster. I know KWC makes rifles that use external CO2 tanks, and there may be others that usea similar system. But usually a gas airsoft gun is considered to be one that uses green gas, and is usually a blowback pistol. The spring guns are just that. They use a spring to either propel the BB, or to build up air pressure to propel the BB. Crazy Steve
