I mean Airsoft and Paintball are basically the same thing, but (you have to admit this) Airsoft guns DO look cooler. I always have been interested in guns. Hell, that's the reason I started playing paintball. I'm done. If you think you can post something that proves you have a working IQ of over 6, go right ahead. If not, don't bother. And those who have served in the military (that sounds really weird...), I beseech (that sounds weird, too...) you, state your opinion...do it now!!! My only problem with airsoft is that it tends to attract spoiled rich kids since the gear is so expensive. Once geared up it's a HELL of a lot cheaper to play ($12 for 3500 rnds compared to $50 for 2000, and 3500 rounds will last 2-4 days of playing). Here's a quick cost comparison: Paintball Impulse- $450 Nitro tank- $200 Mask- $85 Harness/tubes- $50 Revo- $50 Misc- $45 Total- $850 Yes, this is pretty much top of the line stuff, but... Airsoft Upgraded electric gun- $600 2 batteries- $50 Charger- $50 2 hicap magazines- $70 Load bearing vest- $50 Goggles- $60 Full set of BDUs- $50 Misc- $50 Total- $980 And this is a mix of good and average stuff. If you want to go with a sniper rifle you're looking at a grand for a well built gun. Sidearms run from $100-$500 depending on how elaborate or evil you get. I would go onto the field in various configurations: SMG (about $1100 worth of gun) 8 magazines Sniper rifle 2 magazines M16A2 8 magazines And with all of them I carried: Pistol and 2 mags full BDUs FRS radio with headset GPS I was a walking department store of death Cost me an arm and a leg, and then I got screwed out of a great deal of it by people I trusted. The rest I sold to buy my Imp. I still have a gas Beretta around here somewhere that I use to keep the squirrels out of my pear tree, though.
