Hi all, Has anyone tried running a large external monitor with the Toshiba Tecra M4 tablet PC? I just bought one and when I'm not using it as a tablet, I have it connected to my Dell 24 monitor, which is 1920x1200 native resolution. But the Tecra only detects 1600x1200 as the max resolution, so I end up with either a stretched image or black bars on the sides. The GPU included is the NVIDIA GeForce 6600 TE, which can supposedly handle resolutions up to 2048x1536. I called Toshiba and the guy I got didn't really know the answer to my question... I think maybe he didn't understand what I was asking. So, I'm wondering if this is a limitation of the hardware, or maybe just the driver... Maybe it's just a limitation of the VGA port itself? Toshiba sells this docking station thing that has a DVI port on it, so maybe that would support higher resolutions? Anyone else had this problem, or know a way to poke around and figure out where the limitation is? Thanks, Pat

Do you have the ability to adjust the amount of video ram dedicated to the card? Running at 1920x1200 at 32 bits per pixel will take at least 10 megs of ram but because I don't know much about video hardware, you may or may not need more than that to actually use 1920x1200. Also, you can try going into the options for display modes and unchecking Hide modes the monitor can't display which might enable some new options for you. Often times if the computer thinks you have the wrong monitor, it will assume it is not capable of resolutions that it really can handle. However, you can safely try any resolution without hurting the Dell 24 LCD.
