Well, I the UPS guy is gone and I'm looking at my new A-5. I had some extra money and thought I'd experiment with something modern. I have the R/T installed and a flatline installed. I haven't shot it yet, so here's what I see so far: Damn, it's HEAVY. The barrel alone probably weighs half as much as the gun. I put a 20oz on it and it was way too much for me to want to play with. With a remote, it's still pretty darn heavy even without paint in the hopper. It's incredibly loud. No surprise there, it's a Tippmann. It's really uncomfortable to hold. It just doesn't sit in your hands like it should. The R/T makes your finger numb pretty quick. Just getting the R/T adjusted left my finger tingling. On real firearms it's called trigger slap, and everyone HATES it when it happens. Did I mention it's pretty ugly? It doesn't look like a real MP5, nor does it look like a modern paintgun. It's sort of a frankenstein, and the hopper looks like frankenstein's big flat head. Now on the positive side, it seems pretty solid, the trigger pull is light, and the R/T really works like it says. I'm really hoping jaw hits the ground in longball amazement when I finally shoot this thing, because if it doesn't, I don't think I'm going to keep it. It makes my Indian Creek Thundercat from the 90s look like an engineering masterpiece (and to be fair, it almost is). Someone please tell me I'll want to keep this marker after I shoot it....I'm wondering if I should have just picked up an automag instead. BTW the inside of the flatline is rough like sandpaper. Strange.
