Hi, I'm not sure whether this (rec.guns) is the correct newsgroup, but since I couldn't find any newsgroup specifically for soft-air guns this seems to be the right choice. For those in the dark, soft-air (or air-soft , airsoft ) guns are usually Japanese plastic/aluminum replicas of real guns. They shoot 6mm plastic pellets using compressed air, powered by either compressed gas or an electric motor. They are mainly use for war-games as an alternative for paint-ball guns, since the 6mm pellets don't leave a stain on clothing and are relatively harmless - they can leave a small bruise, though, so eye protection is a must. The other use, and one that I'm interested in, is as weapons in live-action cyberpunk games. There's a big game coming up here in Helsinki, and I need a weapon I can hide in a briefcase or under a suit. As a downside, soft-air guns are a relatively new phenomenon as far as I know, and they are fairly expensive...

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting my sister to buy me a Tokyo Marui H&K MP5K A4 on her way from Hong Kong, and I'd like some opinions about it from people who own one, or some other Tokyo Marui electric-power gun. How accurate is it, do the part last, and other opinions. Any/all opinions about air-soft guns are also welcome, I'm fairly new to them myself. BTW, I understand Tokyo Marui also makes a PDW (or is it PWD?) version of the MP5K. What's the difference, just the folding stock? I only have a Japanese catalog, and since I don't know much Japanese I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring everything out :-} //Petri
