Does anyone have any experience of these? I've worn a pair for a few years. They go high up the ankle, which gives me some protection (I walk alone) and is good for wet conditions; they're light and very comfortable. But I was walking over sheep trails in the Cevennes for a few weeks earlier in the summer, and the flints and rocks tore the soles to pieces. So I'm going to have to replace them. I'm thinking of a pair of real boots, which I've never had (Scarpa? Meindel?) but am kind of fond of the army boots (which were given to me by an ex-boyfriend of my daughter, now serving as a Para in Afghanistan) and might replace them, if it weren't for the fragile sole.
