airsoft psg 1 Airsoft, what's the point?
I've read that people are using Airsoft weapons as a substitute for paintball. How can you tell if someone's hit if you're firing a pellet only? If anyone has had any experience with the PSG-1, I'd like to ask why you would use a sniper weapon when a pellet will only travel 100m if that. Thanks.

Hi I had exactly the same thought about the use as a paintball substitute. Waste of time surely. ....but, for indoor shooting softair could be better than full pellet power. The only downside is how dangerous the ricocheted plastic or _meta_l bb's can be making the use of safety glasses a must. Personally, if indoor I would always advocate the use of safety glasses but a lead pellet hitting a _meta_l backstop will usually just fall down where they hit the baskstop. Softair would not be my first choice for accuracy or practicality even after considering their sub 1ft/lb power. Cheers Ross

overshot so you'd better call yourself out for risk of having 20 more shot sent their way. Also, you'd have to be crazy about wearing JUST safety glasses, when people are shooting at you simple safety glasses are not near safe. If playing airsoft or paintball ALWAYS wear PROPER safety mask i.e. aintball Masks, Oh and airsoft have more that 1 ft/pound of force. Also, in paintball the impact is around 11.5 ft/pounds of force, Alexander Brings Ross Lewis wrote in message <

What if you're outdoors? Also, I don't think that airsoft is strictly for wannabe special forces. I was disappointed with paintball in my first few times. I'm looking for alternatives since the last system I used had MILES gear. That's one of the reasons I'm asking about airsoft since the weapons are more accurate in weight and appearance. Thanks. Not to mention more accurate generally Seriously, better accuracy, better rate of fire, less painful, MUCH cheaper ammunition, cheaper guns, webbing actually works with the accessories, torch mounts, scope mounts, tracer fire - need I go on?
