Airsoft is not considered as a sport, but it's an activity very similar to it. Paintballs are filled with paint, Airsoft pellets are much smaller and they don't leave any mark on players clothes. So the most important rule in Airsoft is NOT TO CHEAT. Nobody can see if you get hit by pellet or not, you should feel the impact so there's no excuse - you have to stand up, put you hand in the air and walk out of the combat zone. You're out of the game and you have to wait for the next round. You have to remember that it's a team game, so there's no place for individuals, Rambo's and immortal heros. Airsoft players are usually normal, friendly people and keep it that way. |

Hop-Up is a specially designed system wchich makes shoted airsoft pellets spinning. Shoted pellet is backspining as it flys though the air and makes it go farther before it's dropping in the vertical direction. It makes shooting range much longer and also increases shoot efficiency. Normal bullet, shoted from real gun is also spinning, but it's not the same type of rotation. Pellets are much smaller and much lighter, and their kinetic energy is very small. That's why they need to be spinned to get better shooting resoults and do not change direction, because of the wind. It's pretty similar to spinning of football. |

Air soft guns, also known as BB guns and Soft Air Guns are perfect replicas of real firearms, made with 1:1 scale and shooting with 6mm caliber composite balls. Airsoft is simply the name of the military game, where airoft guns are used. Airsoft gun is not a real gun. Most of them have electric or gas powered system that allows them to shoot at velocities from 100 ft/s up to 550 ft/s. Shoot distance is approximately from 20 meters (cheap, low ended replicas) up to 100 metres (highly upgraded, sniper replicas).
