(snips) |If I'm EVER caught wearing anything remotely resembling |anything that might be considered tactical anything, you |have my permission to put a bullet right through my head. |In fact, I'd hope you would. | |Jeesh... So what do you prefer? Especially for rugged wear? I do a fair amount of rugged work. I wear jeans, a cotton/poly blend shirt, lace-up boots or loafers (I broke a foot a while back and never went to the doc, so I need comfortable shoes whenever possible), some sort of hat to keep the sun out of my eyes (I'm partial to those white plastic sun helmets, but sometimes I wear a _base_ball-_style_ cap) if I'm going to be spending a lot of time out in the sun. and I think ^^^^^^^ There's where you fucked up.

I would rather be shot than be caught wearing tactical clothing. I don't own any tactical clothing; I would never buy any tactical clothing; and I think people who do are ridiculous, or some sort of militia wannabes. Or people who read the product reviews and learn that military boots are rated as a good 'value for the money' as hiking boots? There are a few 'tactical' products that I simply regard as the best product for the task and use them in my civilian life (military issue e-tool, poncho liner, duffel bag, Air Force flight bag, thermal underwear, etc.). The commander in the field is always right and the rear echelon is wrong, unless proved otherwise. General Colin Powell

Treat them decent, they'll last three years or so. Pretty good value. If I have to wear my funeral suit, I just give my boots the mighty polish, they're fine with it. John

I don't own any tactical clothing; I would never buy any tactical clothing; and I think people who do are ridiculous, or some sort of militia wannabes. Daily Tactitcal clothing for me is bib overalls, or decent jeans and a shirt with button down pockets. I do have a couple pair of Dockers, with the leg pockets, but they are common enough in the techie crowd to be not considered out of line. On the other hand...for camoflauge purposes at the appropriate time, I keep a current set of the same bdus worn by most US military groups, woodland, day desert, digital, etc. _base_d on the same camo goals that I also pick up the occasional shirt from the Goodwill from places like the power company, UPS, Dominos, etc. That sort of camo is indeed tactical....... Gunner Pax Americana is a philosophy. Hardly an empire. Making sure other people play nice and dont kill each other (and us) off in job lots is hardly empire building, particularly when you give them self determination under play nice rules. Think of it as having your older brother knock the shit out of you for torturing the cat. Gunner
