It is an old custom to apply Bible placenames to the finest example of a product. Thus the finest artichokes are called Jerusalem artichokes. P. Schultz is putting us on again, or I hope he is. Jerusalem artichokes aren't even related to the real thing, my favourite vegetable ['fruit' to the purists]. If they were they wouldn't taste quite as awful. special events, why shouldn't I, a mere commoner? They do here, in every drugstore (=BrE chemist's)...they call them travel sizes ....r If only the handy travel-sized kings and queens of France had elected for exile here instead of the United States, we could have enjoyed the performance, too. [...] I'd love to see a levée. And I've always wanted to host one - I suppose we might achieve these ambitions on 30th April next.

I was surprised to notice the other day that the Clinique counter in the Army & Navy is staffed by young men. Your army & navy stores sell cosmetics? Must be popular with the Danish Venture Scouts.
